EDRI NEWS

   The Ethiopian Development Research Institute (EDRI) and Ethiopia Strategy Support Program II (ESSP II), a collaborative program of Ethiopian Development Research Institute (EDRI) and International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) are launching their second round 2011/12 small research grant scheme as of November 2011 to post graduate students in Economics, Agricultural Economics and related fields at Ethiopian Public Universities.    TTI/IDRC made an institutional visit to EDRI on June 22nd 2010 by Dr. John Okidi and Dr. Paul Okwi.


   ACBF fielded a supervision mission from October 1¨C4, 2010. The mission was conducted by Dr. Roger Atindehu, Senior Program Officer at ACBF.


   Mr. Kwabena Boakye from ACBF was at EDRI from November 1¨C5, 2010 to provide training on Results Measurement Framework, Quarterly Reporting Tool and M&E Plan Matrix.


   The Global Development Program of the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation supported Dr. Peter da Costa (adviser and consultant) on November 18th 2010 to assess how TTI-funding has impacted the work of EDRI.


   With the facilitation and logistics support of EDRI, ACBF held an international dissemination workshop on Gender Budgeting from November 22¨C24, 2010 at the Hilton Hotel


   The Central Statistical Agency (CSA), The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and the Ethiopian Development Research Institute (EDRI), published the 2007 Population and Housing Census Atlas 2007 and it was launched on November 25th 2010 at UNECA at Africa Statistic¡¯s Day.


   The Ethiopian Strategy Support Program II (ESSP II), a colaborative program of Ethiopian Development Research Institute (EDRI) and International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) are louncing a small research grant scheme as of November 2010 to post graduate students in Economics, Agricultural Economics and related fields at Ethiopian Universities aims of the grant scheme, Application and selection procedure are provided at:




   A high-level African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF)delegation, led by the ExecutiveSecretary, Dr. Frannie Leautier visited EDRI and other donor and government offices to discuss current and future partnerships.


   EDRI launched its Working Paper Series with Yabibal Mulualem¡¯s research paper titled ¡°TouristFlows and Its Determinants in Ethiopia¡± as the first issue of the series.
